About
Welcome to Giuseppe's, a hidden gem located at 59 Baldwin St, Bristol, where authentic Italian cuisine comes to life. With a prime location just a stone's throw from the city center, Giuseppe's has quickly garnered a reputation for its exceptional dining experience. As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I'm thrilled to share what makes this charming restaurant a must-visit for any culinary enthusiast.
The ambiance at Giuseppe’s is both relaxed and inviting, offering a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The warm lighting and friendly, professional staff create an atmosphere that feels both cozy and classy. It’s evident that this establishment is passionate about delivering not just food, but an experience. The attention to detail from the service adds to the enjoyment of each dish, making each visit feel special.
Now, let’s delve into the culinary delights that Giuseppe's has to offer. The dinner a la carte menu features a variety of pizzas that are simply outstanding. The classics, such as the Margherita (£9.95) with fresh mozzarella and tomato, deliver a burst of flavor that transports you to the heart of Italy. However, if you're adventurous, the Giuseppe Parma (£15.50) topped with parma ham, rocket, and parmesan shavings is a delightful choice. For cheese lovers, the Quattro Formaggi (£13.95) is a must-try, featuring a dreamy blend of gorgonzola and goat cheese on a white base.
Beyond pizzas, the primi piatti showcases delicious pastas. The Ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta in a creamy tomato sauce is a comforting option that highlights traditional Italian flavors. I must mention the impressive gnocchi alla Sorrentina, which are fluffy potato dumplings baked to perfection in a fresh basil and tomato sauce — a dish you won't want to miss.
Seafood enthusiasts will definitely want to check out the secondi piatti. As noted by a delighted customer, the swordfish special was heralded as one of the best, perfectly seasoned and paired with succulent sides like mushrooms. Every fish dish is crafted using only the freshest ingredients, as indicated on their daily specials board.
Don’t forget to indulge in dessert! The tiramisu and Creme Brulee have both been praised for their rich textures and exquisite flavors. As one patron remarked, even if you think you’re full, you should never pass up on dessert here.
Overall, Giuseppe's is not just another Italian restaurant; it is a culinary journey that offers both familiar comfort and exciting new flavors. If you're in Bristol and craving authentic Italian fare, make sure to pay Giuseppe's a visit. With remarkable food and an inviting atmosphere, it promises to leave a lasting impression. Don't just take my word for it; experience the magic for yourself, and perhaps, like many visitors, you'll find yourself becoming a regular!
“ Nice quiet Italian restaurant near the centre. Food was amazing. It was probably the best swordfish dish (as daily special) I have ever had — fresh taste of fish was kept, mixed with suitable flavour of tomato. The side mushrooms were also delicious. Enjoyed every second! A bit expensive though, but never mind as you would have such an experience. Added: I went another time and tried the monkfish, which is another daily special and is also good, although I like the swordfish better. The side potato is perfectly salted, and the Creme Brulee is very creamy. Added again: One of the best Carbonara I’ve had outside Italy. The starter garlic bread with tomato sauce (basically Margarita) is already a meal portion, and it is very tasty. ”
“ Some of the best pizza and garlic bread ever produced. His both vital aspects in being both crispy and chewy. The garlic bread with rosemary was like fluffy garlicky crispy clouds. Friendly helpful staff who were not awed at the amount of food ordered or consumed by a single pizza adapted individual with partner in tow. It's not a cheap Italian but it is an ACTUAL Italian with proper good food. I recommend getting your ass there. ”
“ Excellent restaurant, brilliant food and professional service. The atmosphere is relaxed and feels ambient. Highly recommend!!!! ”
“ Gorgeous carbonara and scallops! Came here for my partner’s birthday and only found Giuseppe’s from a last minute search for authentic an Italian in Bristol - and we were not disappointed at the slightest. Great red wine selection, extremely prompt and warm service, and the atmosphere topped it all off. Definitely coming back very soon. Trying the tiramisu is a must even if you think you’re full! ”
“ Came here on a Saturday for dinner with a friend after hearing good things. We went with the Lasagna Al Forno, Salmon Linguine, Buschetta and I got a bowl of chips too. Absolutely gorgeous food and perfect service. The waiters were extremely attentive, checking on us just the right amount of times and ensuring we had everything we need, they were all also very friendly. Food itself was served fast, hot and fresh. My lasagna had lots of really high quality meat and was a very generous portion, accompanied by the bruschetta it was perfect and very authentic. My friend said the salmon pasta was also delicious/the best pasta she'd had in a long time. Really recommend Guiseppes. Lovely food, great staff, central location and overall a fabulous experience. ”
“ Giuseppe's is such a good restaurant. Every time we go it's good. It's homely and welcoming and has a good buzz about it. Staff are friendly and helpful and very attentive to our 4-year-old. The food is great. Lovely pasta dishes, good Pizzas, nice chicken etc., but also a great selection of seafood. The night we went there were clams, lobster and Sardines on the menu. Good selection of wine and desserts too. It's one of our favourite places to eat in the city centre. ”
“ Told a while to find (up some stairs) but worth the effort. Food was lovely. Bit of a wait for mains but worth it. ”
“ One of my favourite Italians!! This place feels so authentic, you’d really believe you were in Italy! I’ve been here multiple times and usually get carbonara, but this time I went for the gnocchi, which was incredible, so rich and flavoursome! ”
